Deb Jaycox, GM/Director of Operations
A member of the Worthington Golf & Fitness Club management team since 2011, Deb has worked in the restaurant/hospitality business since 1975 and is an accomplished instructor with 15 years of Junior golf experience. Her teaching background includes 10 years as resident golf professional/manager at Emerald Valley Country Club in Lakefield, MN as well as a position as assistant manager/Junior golf instructor at Jackson (MN) Golf Club. From 2005 to 2010 Deb was head coach of the girls’ and boys’ varsity golf program at Southwest Star Concept Secondary.
Bob Wethor, Superintendent
Bob has been in the industry since 1990. He took his first superintendent position in 2000 and has held that position at Worthington Golf & Fitness Club since 2005. Bob was active on the Board of Directors for the South Dakota chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) from 2005 to 2011, serving as both vice president and president during that time. Bob’s honors include being named by the GCSAA South Dakota chapter as 18-Hole Superintendent of the Year for 2012. He earned an A.S. degree in Business from Southwest State University in 1995, and an A.A.S. degree in Horticulture and Turf Management from Southeast Tech in 1997.
Cory Pelzel, Head Golf Professional
Cory is a native of Heron Lake, MN and a 2009 graduate of Southwest Star Concept Secondary. His prior experience includes five years as an assistant golf professional in Cottage Grove, WI with winters spent working in the industry in Palm Desert, CA. Cory is currently in Level 1 of the PGA program as he works towards his PGA membership. He enjoys working on his game and enjoying friends and family in his spare time. His teaching is built on the philosophy that the golf swing begins with a solid foundation – grip, stance, and set-up – and that if those are in place, anyone can have a great swing.
