Shannon O’Neil, Head Golf Professional
Shannon grew up in Florida and was part of a golfing family. He has a younger brother, Steve and younger sister, Erin. Both his younger brother and sister were 2-time All Americans in college. Shannon played college golf at Furman University in Greenville SC, and graduated in 1989 with a degree in Political Science. He played professionally on various mini-tours through 1995 and joined the PGA as a Class A Member specializing in Tournament Operations, Teaching and Merchandising, in the year 2000. Previously, O’Neil was the Head Golf Professional at The Redhawk Run Golf Club in Findlay, OH, The Perham Lakeside Golf Course in Perham, MN, The Richspring Golf Course in Cold Spring, MN and at The Woodland Hills Golf Course in Fort Scott, KS.
Bob Wethor, Superintendent
Bob has been in the industry since 1990. He took his first superintendent position in 2000 and has held that position at Worthington Golf & Fitness Club since 2005. Bob was active on the Board of Directors for the South Dakota chapter of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) from 2005 to 2011, serving as both vice president and president during that time. Bob’s honors include being named by the GCSAA South Dakota chapter as 18-Hole Superintendent of the Year for 2012. He earned an A.S. degree in Business from Southwest State University in 1995, and an A.A.S. degree in Horticulture and Turf Management from Southeast Tech in 1997.
Kim Hinkeldey, Food & Beverage Manager
Kim has been in the food service industry ever since she was 12 years old, busing tables and waitressing at the café her grandmother worked at. She began bartending at 18, and in addition to working at Pillar Bar & Grill, she has worked for Burger King for the last 20 years. Kim is an avid runner, hiker and biker and enjoys spending time with her five children and seven grandchildren. She brings extensive industry knowledge to GreatLIFE Worthington and looks forward to every day on the job.
